Already as child I watched my mother Mechthild Häusler and the workshop community feuerfarbe enameling and was fascinated. For almost 10 years I have now also enameled myself.
I am fascinated by the variety of possible techniques, the different results and the expressive colours. The result is never exactly predictable, it is during the firing in the kiln that the final artwork is created. This is a peculiarity of enamel I had to learn to deal with, but it is also what makes enamel so appealing.
I particularly enjoy working with found objects and redesigning old metal sheets or even older unfinished enamel works into new artworks.
