Renate Wächter

I have been working with enamel on copper since 1980. The joy of the clear and strong colors and the play with light brought me to it. I found the guidance over many years with the enamelist Wera Ostwaldt.

Since 1990 I work in my workshop in Berlin on the implementation of my own landscape and plant drawings in cloisonné and screen technique . I experiment with opaque and transparent colors. I am fascinated by enamel as a material, the combination of glass and metal at 900 °C and the luminosity, color depth and transparency of the colors that develop. This transparency is an essential design element of my paintings.

The world of enameling opened up to me on numerous trips abroad with the CKI , on the joint exhibitions and work with artists, especially from Russia, Spain and Liechtenstein. From 2000, large-scale works were created in Erfurt.

I have shown many pictures on own exhibitions and also exhibition participations. In Himmerod I was a lecturer. I am a member of the international artists group CKI .
