Born on 8th of April 1941, Hedi Hentschel completed an education at the artisan training workshop in Duisburg and studied textile design at the Textile Engineering School in Krefeld.
She worked as a textile designer in the studio Derichsweiler and Hillers in Krefeld, took numerous courses in weaving techniques and silk painting and participated with her silk painting in various national and international exhibitions.
