Instruction to create a spiral in Cloisonné

Material

  • Round copper blank
  • Copper wire
  • Enamel (powdered fondant enamel, wet black enamel, transparent chip enamel)
  • Painting brush
  • Tin plummet scissors
  • Side cutter
  • Rosary pliers
  • Modeling tool
  • Tweezers
  • File
  • Grinding block
  • Firing sieve
Instruction

  1. Draw spiral shape on copper blank and cut it out
  2. Bend the copper wire and place it on the blank
  3. Sprinkle with fondant enamel
  4. Fire at 820 °C for 2 to 3 minutes and let it cool down
  5. Apply black enamel with a thin brush and let it dry
  6. Sprinkle with transparent chip enamel
  7. Fire at 830 °C for 3 minutes and let it cool down
  8. Clean the wires with a file and the enamel spiral is ready
